Event Recap: Optimizing your Digital Content for Yoga & Fitness Instructors

On October 14th WellMode, Mixily, Jamie Ratermann and Thick Girl Yoga L.A. hosted a virtual panel about optimizing digital content for yoga instructors. As the demand for digital wellness offerings expands, you have the opportunity to connect to your network in dynamic new ways—beyond the studio. Here’s the recap on how to sell tickets to your online classes on Mixily, continue making revenue with Wellmode, promote your offerings on social media, and create engaging digital experiences and content.

The event was pay-what-you-can and together we raised $70 for Black Women For Wellness. Donate here if you benefit from our training!

Recap:

What does it mean to optimize digital content?

  • Pay attention to the way your audience responds to your content specifically in DMs and comments

  • Show up consistently

  • Repurpose content across events, social, blog, newsletter, courses, etc.

  • Do monthly data check ins, see what is performing well and adjust accordingly

  • Understand your audience - show up with authority, know who you’re talking to and what their pain points are

Tips for recording videos for optimal use after?

  • You don’t need fancy equipment! Instead of using your computer to zoom record, set up a smartphone (using the back camera) to record your video.

  • Do a quick 1-min test shot to ensure your lighting and audio are optimal.

  • Check out the blogs on WellMode to get started with best practices for audio, lighting, and recording.

  • Chat with the WellMode team about monetizing your recorded videos for 10x return on your classes

As the Owner and Creator of Thick Girl Yoga L.A., Christina has represented her brand at numerous events. Never one to back away from an ‘offer’ or an ‘opportunity’, the whole-body wellness advocate participated in various events focusing on healing and wellness where she shared meditation, yoga, and, in some cases, womb wellness, information. Some of these events include L.A. Care Yoga & Meditation, Supr Fest Vegan Festival, LMU Yoga Day, Soul Long Beach Festival, Senior Yoga (at Whittier College in Whittier, CA), and Nappywood. When the opportunity to model for Athleta Inc. (whose parent company is Gap Inc.) arrived, Christina jumped at the chance! She, along with her daughter, modeled yoga/fitness clothing for the ‘Power of She’ Campaign in the fall of 2019. This opportunity led to two more assignments for the ‘mommy-daughter duo’ as they signed on to model in the summer and fall Athleta Inc. campaigns for 2020.

With her Aries traits taking control, Christina created and hosted Thick Girl Yoga LA Aligned Chakra Yoga & Meditation Training, Thick Girl Yoga LA Beach Day, Rebirth Goddess Circle, The Art Of Femininity: Waistbeads & Yoni Steams, 90’s Hip Hop Thick Girl Flow Workshop, Mindful Mamas of Yoga, and Self Care Sunday’s Pop up Yoga Class. And expanding on the ‘I can!’ attitude of the Aries, this true Piscean appeared on podcasts spreading her message and purpose. She can be heard on Black Womxn Healing Pod and on Avocado & Honey. Additionally, she was featured in an article on Medium.com about her focuses on ‘body-positivity’, mediation, and combining neo-soul music with yoga.
